Course description

The course gives an overview of materials, grouped in metals, organic, minerals, synthetics and basic material knowledge .

Learning outcomes

Students shall be able to understand key material values like strength, elasticity, and other physical and mechanical properties.

Contents and teaching methods

Lectures and written assignments.

Exams and assessment methods

Written exam at the end of the year. 4 of 5 written assignments has to be delivered and passed to take the final exam. The course is assessed subject to an A-F grade scale. E is the poorest pass mark, as stated in the Regulations for Master's degree programmes at Oslo School of Architecture and Design, § 6-14.
