This lecture-based course covers architectural and design theory and history after 1900.
The course has two parts; the first analytical, the second a historical survey. While the second part is common to all students, the first part is structured differently for students of architecture and industrial design respectively, with a 3D modeling assignment for studio 1 and 2, and an essay assignment for studio 3.
Knowledge of modern architectural- design- and art history in a wide historical, theoretical and cultural context.
Lectures, literature studies, digital assignments, essay writing.
Assignments. Exam at the end of first year.
The course is assessed subject to an A-F
grade scale. E
is the poorest pass mark, as stated in the Regulations for Master's degree programmes at Oslo School of Architecture and Design, § 6-14.
