Course description

The course deals with industrial design in practice and its framework, role and relationship to the employer and society. The course will include a continuation of introduction to interaction design.

The course is divided into two main tasks:

  • an industrial project where the student is from a given brief design an industrial physical product and
  • a portfolio project where students will present their self and their work through school.

 

There will also be taught and instructed in the software, Alias and Maya, and in relation to industrial task.

Learning outcomes

After completed semester, the student will be able to plan and implement an independent design project, and in a professional way to document the project process and results by using appropriate tools. Within the field of interaction design, the student will be able to develop a separate presentation using digital media.

Contents and teaching methods

Independent project with its lectures, guidance and feedback on common presentations. It will be held during visits to / by the relevant communities.

Exams and assessment methods

The course evaluated from the submitted material, oral presentation and participation throughout the semester. According to the assessment of the product design task, there will be an emphasis on originality, design, user customization, marketing aspects, sustainability and consideration for production. There will be requirements for documentation of the process and results in report form. According to the project portfolio, there will be emphasis on quality, creativity, structure and communication.
