Course description

GK2 Introduction to architecture and design is the 2nd part of the introduction course, and builds on knowledge gained from GK1. The course is a design project, which introduces different methods, techniques and theories connected to the design process related to a specific product theme.

Learning outcomes

To develop an ability to handle different tools adapted to the different phases of a more complex design process, to develop a methodological understanding of the design process, to develop a aesthetical and formal sensitivity, and to gain focused knowledge and reflections around a specific product theme.

Contents and teaching methods

Lectures, work shops, excursions, presentations. The lectures will be held either for all three studios, or specifically for Studio 3.

Exams and assessment methods

Assessment on basis of individual evaluation. The course is assessed as pass/fail, subject to the Regulations for Master's degree programmes at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design, § 6-14.
