GK1 Introduction to architecture and design (Studio 1+2) (18 credits), and GK1 Introduction to architecture and design (Studio 3) (18 credits) and GK1 Architectural and design history before 1900 (6 credits).
The course gives an overview of materials, grouped in metals, organic, minerals, synthetics and basic material knowledge.
Students should be able to understand key material values like strength, elasticity and other physical and mechanical properties.
Lectures and written assignments.
Written exam at the end of the year. 4 of 5 written assignments has to be delivered and passed to take the final exam.
