Course description

The course will deal with architecture as practice, legal and procedural frames and regulations for planning and construction of buildings, different roles and perspective of architects, and variations in ways of organizing work on national and international levels.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge of legal and technical requirements that an architectural project has to meet from its inception to completion, knowledge of the processes of design, of the documentation and the different agents. Impressions of different ways of establishing and organizing a practice.

Contents and teaching methods

The course consist of seminars/lectures, the study of relevant literature and casestudies.

Exams and assessment methods

The final assessment is based on the students logs and digital presentations. The course is assessed as pass/fail, subject to the Regulations for Master's degree programmes at Oslo School of Architecture and Design, § 6-14.
